About Judith's Dad
by Francis MacNutt (from the May/June 2005 issue)
We want to thank you for your prayers for Judith's dad, Joe Sewell. As you may remember, he was in a nursing home in Jackson, Kentucky, and was 89 years old.
Well, your prayers were marvelously answered, for he went home to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday morning. The nurse looked in on him around 8:30. He was still breathing, and then he gently breathed his last. We quickly flew up to Kentucky, staying with Judith's brother's family. Then we took part in the funeral service at her dad's little church and went from there to the burial site beside Judith's mom who had died thirty years before.
All in all, things couldn't have gone better, but as you know, humanly speaking, a death in the family is always painful and a profound loss, even when you know it is the right time. So please pray for Judith.
P.S. - Providentially, Easter Sunday many years ago was the date that Judith's dad was baptized, and she believes he was waiting for Easter before leaving this world.
